Walk and Celebrate the Garland Hut Opening
Sunday June 18th | Start 9.30, 10.00, or 10.20 | Redmarley Village Hall
FREE but numbers are limited to 100
Join a two mile Walk and Talk event from Redmarley to Ryton along the Poets Path to arrive in time for the launch of the newly renovated Information Facility.
An easy no stiles, family-orientated walk (2 miles) shepherded in three groups, and stopping at significant points en route. We reveal diverse stories of Redmarley’s social and architectural history, investigate the ‘rural idyll’ landscape that inspired the WW1 poets, and appreciate the wooded and farmed landscape. All in all a jolly nice morning ramble through the countryside that we have the great fortune to inherit.

In less than an hour you will arrive at the Garland Hut where we unveil the Moment Centenary Project display and the measures in place to conserve footpaths, wildlife and our rich cultural heritage.
As there is no parking at the Garland Hut, we suggest you fill your car with friends and family, or go by bike to Redmarley Village Hall. At the end of the event we will return drivers to the Hall to then pick up their passengers. The not-so-able are welcome to be dropped off at 333 Ryton, where they can enjoy a morning on the new verandah with Barbara Davis & Tony Williams
Everyone is invited to join with the project volunteers and celebrate at the Rose & Crown Redmarley, on the A417, hosted by the landlord Matt Lee. Enjoy a drink and a chat to round out the experience, maybe partake of a pub lunch. Dad would like it ! (… best to reserve a table 01531 650234)
Please be aware of the country code. Wear stout shoes. Dogs on leads at all times.
